Wow. What an incredible year its been. I feel so fortunate to have met all the wonderful folks that chose to let me share in one of the most important days of their lives and I feel grateful that I get to call them all friends now. Thank you to everyone who made this year so great. I can’t wait to see all the what 2016 has in store for us all!

It’s basically my favorite thing when couples show up to their engagement session and tell me they aren’t good in front of the camera and then proceed to KILL IT. Makes me so happy. Annemarie and Phil tried to sell me that song and dance before we started exploring Meadowbrook Orchards together on a lovely spring day earlier this year. What they proceeded to show me was the absolute love and connect between them. Here are a few favorite images from our time together.
As a child I was almost thrown off a horse when my mother went to snap a photo of me riding. The camera flash spooked the horse and the animal took off running with little me helmetless and clinging on for dear life. I wasn’t thrown, and more fortunately wasn’t hurt but since then horses have always been…well…a little bit SUSPECT. When fellow photographer Melissa proposed doing a portrait session on a horse farm, I definitely was intrigued. Shooting horses!? and another photographer?! No pressure there! Ha! She talked to me about her long time love for horses and riding, and how shooting in this environment would really reflect something personal and important to her. I was in! We traveled to Gathering Farm in Hamilton, Mass. and what a beautiful farm it was. Two lovely and well behaved horses, Joe and Pewter helped us out that day. I think when you take someone’s portrait while immersed in something that makes them truly happy, you can’t lose. I’m thrilled with the way these came out, and had such a great time with Melissa that day.
*No photographers or horses were harmed in the creation of these photos, I cannot say the same for the bundle of carrots.
